Disinfection with gas chlorine

Disinfection of drinking water provides critical public health protection. Disinfection destroys bacteria and viruses and prevents the spread of waterborne disease. The most commonly used disinfectant for drinking water treatment is chlorine. Its effectiveness against a wide spectrum of disease causing organisms, relatively low cost, and high reliability contribute to its popularity.

Advance Chloro Systems LTD. offers dosing, measurement, regulation and safety equipment for water disinfection with gas chlorine.

Dosing of chemicals

  • Gas chlorine
  • Liquid chlorine
  • Chlorine dioxide
  • pH correctors
  • Flocculants

Measurement and regulation equipment

  • Gas chlorine
  • pH levels
  • Redox
  • pH correctors
  • Temperature and flow control

Filtration

Before disinfection, water always needs a previous treatment in order to remove turbidity. In such applications we use a classical sand filtration method with additional dosing of flocculants for better efficiency of sand filters. After we decrease the turbidity to a desired level, we add disinfection to make sure that the water is free of bacteria before it gets to users.

Legionella treatment and prevention with chlorine dioxide

In recent years risk of infection by presence of Legionella in warm and cooling water circuits became a public concern. Chlorine Dioxide has proved the most effective method of Legionella control in water systems. Legionella bacteria which lives in biofilms in water systems. Many conventional biocides are ineffective in controlling legionella and are unable to penetrate or disperse biofilms. Chlorine Dioxide, or ClO2 for short, has been shown to be extremely effective at penetrating and killing biofilms and the legionella bacteria that they harbour.
